The oldest cigar maker in the Dominican Republic, La Aurora, has partnered with luxury watchmaker Jacob & Co. to create a special package priced at $48,000. The collaboration features a La Aurora-branded watch from Jacob & Co.'s Epic X collection. The watch is a skeleton design with a rose gold 44mm case, adorned with La Aurora branding and an image of their classic No. 1 perfecto cigar.
Buyers of the watch will also receive a humidor and 10 limited-edition La Aurora 120th Anniversary cigars. These cigars are part of a series released last year to celebrate La Aurora's 120th anniversary, made with Dominican tobacco and presented in special packaging reminiscent of the company's original Preferidos cigars from 1903. The cigars are produced in small batches, with only 2,500 boxes available this year. The collaboration produced only 10 watches, with seven already sold to Guillermo León of La Aurora and his associates.
The remaining three sets are available at Jacob & Co. stores in New York City, Miami, and Geneva, Switzerland. Each watch is priced at $48,000. This collaboration follows a trend of partnerships between cigar and watch companies, with others like La Palina and Accutron, Arturo Fuente and Hublot, Altadis and B.R.M.
